2017 Community Involvement

January 9, 2018

Over the course of this of this summer and fall, Atlas Manufacturing has been involved in a variety of community events benefitting numerous programs and non-profit organizations in the area. Read below to learn more about the great events we took part in!

2017 Tee it up for the Troops

In July, we sponsored a hole at “2017 Tee it up for the Troops”. This is an event that provides resources for returning vets and families in need and recognizes our veterans and those that have fallen for our country.

Giving Through Golf

In July, we sponsored Giving Through Golf which benefitted the National Parkinson Foundation. 100% net proceeds funded Caregiver Resources available to people and families living with a Parkinson’s diagnosis. Services and resources include individualized support grants, and free education programs and materials.

2017 YMCA Charity Golf Outing

For over 23 years the Chippewa Valley Family YMCA has provided a day of golfers’ camaraderie in order to help those in need. Proceeds from the Golf Outing benefit the Annual/Strong Kids Campaign. The Annual/Strong Kids Campaign offers financial assistance and scholarships to those who cannot afford a membership at the YMCA. We were honored to be a hole sponsor for this event and help contribute to a great organization.

Annual Border Battle Golf Event

We were honored to be a part of the 2017 Border Battle Golf Event which is a fundraiser for the Eau Claire Area School District’s Homeless Program.

L.E Phillips Career Development Center

All money raised goes to support our Programs and Services Department that provides training to disabled or disadvantaged employees, provides guardianship to adults who need it and helps those who are homeless find homes.

Nordson Charity Golf Event

In October Atlas sponsored a team at St. Marlo Country Club in Duluth, GA helping raise money for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. The event raised over $50,000 to get these children the necessary health care they need.

Sports for Special Kids of North Carolina

For the sixth straight year Atlas has been a proud sponsor of Sports for Special kids. This one day event took place in Raleigh, NC in October. Proceeds from the event are used to help support special needs children experience sports with the eventual goal of creating a facility designed just for them.

16th Annual Oktoberfest

October 11, 2017

Every year since 2002, Atlas has ushered in the fall season with an Oktoberfest celebration. Oktoberfest brings employees, family, and friends together to celebrate. Operating 5 shifts of production in two locations, it’s difficult to bring everyone together at one place and time. Oktoberfest offers employees and their families a
chance to get together and enjoy time outside of the workplace environment. This year the celebration was at the Minneapolis Atlas facility where we were excited to showcase our remodeled reception area, reconfigured facility and new equipment.

The grand meal of the event was arranged by Atlas employees and prepared by the committee members. Under the watchful eye of our Chippewa Falls Facility Supervisor, we fired up the giant charcoal grill holding 7 bags of charcoal and cooked up some flip-flop chicken. We also had all the usual Oktoberfest eats including brats, mac and cheese, hot dogs, beans, coleslaw, and of course Oktoberfest beer from Leinenkugel’s.

A face painter created fanciful designs on children’s faces while flu shots were administered at the adjoining table. Anchor bank provided cookies and Dilly bars from their food truck along with banking advice. Northwestern Mutual financial advisors were standing by to help anyone with questions relating to investing and insurance. The kids loved the bouncy house which kept them dry from the irritating drizzle that fell on us.

Bingo has always been the highlight of the event and the prizes were plentiful thanks to our generous suppliers. All employees in attendance received T-shirts and prizes. We were grateful to have some of our folks from our Chippewa Falls facility join in the event as well. Over 150 people gathered for this celebration which brings us all together each year. We have a great deal to be thankful for; the tremendous loyalty of our customers, fantastic and supportive suppliers, and wonderfully committed employees that make the dream come alive.

2017 Sales Meeting

March 9, 2017

Atlas Manufacturing held a sales meeting at Mystic Lake on March 1st for our teams of Manufacturers’ Representatives and Sales Staff. The meeting was held to discuss ways we all can work together to better serve the needs of our current and future customers. The theme of the event was “Don’t gamble on your future, hit the jackpot with Atlas in 2017.”

Throughout the event, a variety of trophies and awards were given out. One of our team members, Bill, took home the Prospector Award and Rich took the title of Best Gambler Award. The meeting was followed by a blackjack tournament.  It was a great team building event; everyone had a great time and shared a lot of laughs. Thank you to Mystic Lake for hosting us! This was an outstanding event that we learned a lot from. We look forward to applying this in working with our great customers in 2017!

2017 Chippewa Falls Ice Fishing Event

February 22, 2017

Each year, Atlas Manufacturing gathers with some of our customers and employees and enjoy comradery and ice fishing while enjoying drinks on the lake. This year, it was sunny and cold but an amazing day. All teams were in costume and well recognized.

The essence of this fishing event is a way to get coworkers and retired employees together to have an afternoon of fun & fishing. This year’s theme was ‘Whizzards on Ice’ which consisted of a large variety of costumes including Munchkins, Scarecrows, Lions, Tin men (created by Atlas, of course), Dorothy, and Toto. The event included some wacky food options as well, including ‘Flying Monkey Head’ (Beef) Stew, Poppy Fields Rolls, and Auntie Em & Em Bars with a ‘Snow Place Like Foam’ topping. The event culminated with pizza and prizes at the Ojibwa Bowling Alley at JimBob’s pizza. At the end of the night, awards were given out for the best costumes as well as donated prizes given out to employees. This year’s big winner received a 50-inch TV.

At Atlas, we value our customers and employees. This was a great event that gave us the chance to connect with them outside of the business.
