With increasing customer requests for parts that have identifier marks, Atlas Manufacturing has added a new capabilities to mark parts via laser. This new internal capability can produce several styles of marks — without ever contacting the part — that includes etching, polishing, and annealing.
Adhering to a high-quality standard, we use fiber laser technology for customer logos and serial numbers that are ingrained into the material. Compared to marking on top of the item, this process produces a superior and long lasting image.

Efficiency and set-up reduction are two important core values to the Atlas Manufacturing team. Over the past few years, we’ve upgraded our production machinery and made some changes to our existing die changing approach. This has created a more efficient die changing process. In fact, according to the recent feature article in Metalforming Magazine, “Results have been impressive.”
The Atlas team found some of these new solutions when visiting METALFORM and FABTECH in Las Vegas in 2012. Contacts made at the conference led Engel to Todd Wenzel of TCR Metalforming Solutions in Wisconsin Rapids. By the time TCR finished making some quick die changes at Atlas, it helped reduce die-swap times by 50-75 percent.
To learn more about how TCR helped Atlas achieve these goals, read the article below.
